The Structural Engineering Student Intern will be responsible for assisting in the design of primarily residential, light commercial, industrial, and civil structures under the direction of a Structural Engineering Designer. In addition, candidate may work on structures in mining, energy, healthcare, and other market sectors from time to time. Candidate will be designing with wood, steel (both heavy and light gage), concrete, glass, and masonry utilizing current building and material codes, structural engineering software, and hand calculations. AutoCAD and/or Revit will be utilized daily with this position. Construction inspections and site visits will be completed to verify designs. Some client and partner coordination to complete projects will be involved. Some travel is required on occasion.

Chayah Consulting Group is seeking an ambitious, dedicated individual to serve in a structural engineering designer I or II role.

Must have EI certification and 0-5 years of structural engineering experience. Some experience preferred in building and bridge design including steel, masonry, concrete, and timber structures. Residential design experience a plus but not required. Ability to learn Autocad and/or Revit structure required. Ability to look up building and material codes, and provide detailed calculations and drawings. Must be able to work in a highly team-oriented environment and be conscientious and detail oriented.

FIELD INSPECTOR/TECHNICIAN

FIELD INSPECTOR/TECHNICIAN

Chayah Consulting Group a structural/civil engineering and consulting firm is seeking a skilled construction inspector for 3-4 days per week at an apartment complex in Fort Collins for a 3-6 month term. Position is temporary but could turn into permanent or even full time work. Will act as 3rd party inspector. Construction experience is a must. YOU’LL BE WORKING ON:

• Field Inspections of apartment complexes and residential construction, some light commercial and civil structures (box culverts, bridges, etc).
• Explain deficiencies to framing superintendents, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Provide as-built sketches and documentation of projects ranging in size from a small homes and remodels to large multifamily, commercial, municipal, and industrial projects.
• Foundation Rebar, steel framing, wood framing, utility, drainage, erosion control, stormwater quality, and other inspections as needed. Some restoration damage and observations at times.
• Reviewing construction submittals for conformance with contract documents.
• As-built inspections to determine dimensions of existing construction, photos and sketches.
• Field representation of Chayah and at times attending meetings with County or City staff or clients.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS YOU’LL NEED:

• A minimum of 10-15 years in the construction industry, framing experience desired.
• Ability to read plans, provide construction inspections, and verify conformance with plans
• Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
• Ability to “fail” inspections or provide field engineering with engineer review as needed.
• Versatile with computers, tablets, Microsoft Office, and ability to learn new software
• Ability to sketch layouts, details, and obtain measurements and photos when needed.

Civil Engineering Project Manager

Job Opportunity: Civil Engineering Project Manager

Chayah Consulting Group is currently seeking an ambitious and dedicated individual to fill the role of Civil Engineering Project Manager. This position requires a candidate with a Professional Engineer (PE) certification and 6-12 years of experience in the field of civil engineering.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the scope, cost, and schedule of multiple projects and clients. This includes overseeing the work of junior staff and administrative personnel as necessary to ensure the successful completion of projects within budget and on time, meeting or exceeding industry standards.

Required Experience:

Candidates must possess experience in civil engineering, with proficiency in managing and designing projects that include site, grading, drainage, utility, traffic, and street design. 6-8+ years preferred

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Civil 3d, HEC, SWMM, EPANET, or similar civil engineering software is essential for this role. The candidate must be proficient in civil engineering principles including hydrology, hydraulics, and local and state engineering requirements.
